Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
We have been busy here @ My59Ranch. My girls were really excited to be in the Christmas spirit and ready to enjoy the day. We had a great gathering of us around the table. This year I cooked a 15lb turkey and it turned out perfect. Just a normal traditional recipe from years gone by – and cooked in the oven. Sometimes, you need to remember yesterday and that was well worth it.
So as we sat down last night (Christmas Day) we gave thanks to 2020 and all that it brought us. While COVID impacted everyone we reflected on the good things. Number one in my mind was Family. At the end of the day, Gods gift to us is our families. Each and every one of the members of your family has a specific task and role in your life, as well as you in theirs. Never take for granted their input to you. You won’t always see eye to eye, agree on anything from what to eat for dinner to politics. What you can do, is agree that you love one another. You can agree that no matter what, you have their back. If Jesus can come to this world, take on mans flesh, die on the Cross and take on our sin to rise again and forgive us – I think we can take that lesson home.
So as we relaxed by the fire (our cat Simba always gets the best spot) with the outside temp getting down to 16 degrees, we stayed comfortable and watched Home Alone. Our hearts full, our spirits high as we begin to look forward to 2021. All of the opportunities, projects and adventures that a new year brings is just around the corner. So, chin up, look for the best things in your life, TURN OFF THE NEWS (fear) and enjoy your family and friends. Our days are not set by man, but by his plan – make the most of it.
2nd Timothy – 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
See you on the other side!
